I was very young when i got my first camera. it was one of those camera parents usually get you to shut you up. It was one of those AGFA camera that took the 110 film cartridges. It didn’t have shutter or aperture control. Armed with a shutter release button and a dial to move the frame forward, a simple thing i used to do, turned into a passion that only grew.

To tell you the truth, my photographs sucked. They sucked so much that my parents thought they had made the worst mistake of their lives. Giving a 7 year old a camera which kept spitting out roll after roll of film, not caring about the developing and printing costs! but hey.. a photographers gotta do m what a photographers gotta do. right?

Anyways, fast forward to today. The photography industry has changed. You only need to think of an image you want to create and then apply your technique to it and you have the image you want.
I always wanted to learn more about photography and realized the only way to learn about photography was to learn more about light. Its direction, its quality,  Its color, its warmth. I wanted to understand it, feel it and eventually create it. I started reading books, blogs, magazines and anything that had anything to do with light.  It wasn’t long before I started looking at the world of photography in a very different light (lame pun intended).

One of my searches led me to David Hobby’s website (strobist.blogspot.com), a blog dedicated to off-camera lighting that discussed how light could be altered. I knew this was only a stepping stone for me, in regards to understanding light and its characteristics. I wanted more. it wasn’t enough. What started as a simple hobby had turned into an obsession. I wanted to learn from the people who had mastered this field. David Hobby’s  work with small flash lighting and Joe Mcnally’s (www.joemcnally) work in the National Geographic, Life, Sports illustrated and many many other publications had always inspired me and learning from them would have been completely different than just looking at their photographs and understand what happened behind the scenes. So i did. In May of 2008, I signed up for Gulf Photo Plus in Dubai and attended their upcoming seminars that completely changed the way i thought, worked, felt light. It was truly an honor learning from the best of the best in the field that i was so passionate about.

As this is a very new site, most of the images displayed have been from my old collection of photographs. As time progresses, I will be adding more photographs for you to enjoy.
This is site is in its beta stage, so some bugs may surface. All bugs are recorded and automatically reported so they will be taken care of as soon as they come in.

We truly hope you enjoy the site, as much as I enjoyed developing it.

Thank You for visitng NHP.
